Welcome back to the second episode of Medical Entrepreneur!
This is the podcast where I’ll show you how to break free from traditional medicine and carve your own path forward.
In today’s episode… we’re gonna be talking about why healthcare professionals are consistently overworked and underpaid… and how you can do something about it.
I’m also gonna tell some stories of past clients I’ve helped and their backstories.
Make sure you check it out!
How This One Lady We Helped Almost Got Killed!
So one of my favorite stories on this topic is about this one lady that we helped.
So she was working as an RN in a pretty reputable hospital, and she was assigned to take care of this mentally ill patient, this person who had a lot of issues in their life.
And basically… I won’t tell the whole story… but this patient ended up threatening her and becoming very aggressive to her with a piece of glass.
But eventually, security was called, and they managed to get a hold of the patient and bring her back on her medication.
So as you can imagine, the lady who was looking after this patient was pretty shaken. It’s a pretty traumatic experience when you think about it. Definitely not something someone should have to deal with as part of their job.
But anyway, the next day, she turned up for work and realized she had been assigned to look after the same patient.
She couldn’t believe it.
She was so shocked that she went to the management and she said to them that there must have been some kind of mistake.
“No.” They said, “This is the patient you have been assigned to.”
So, of course, the lady objected to this. But the management told her that wasn’t an option, and she had to deal with the patient again.
For her, that was a real turning point.
Eventually, she just got sick of being in a system where she risked her physical and mental health for an organization that shows no care whatsoever for her personal safety or her wellbeing.
So she left, and she ended up reaching out to us and starting her own med spa, still doing what she loves.
This Is Where Your Problem Is…
This is the issue with the system. You have nurses, doctors, and other healthcare professionals who work so hard… they give up so much for their employers and their patients… yet they just get treated terribly.
They’re just like another cog in the wheel of the system.
And they show no regard for your physical health, your security, never mind your job satisfaction!
You’re just like another number to them.
This Is When People Start to Respect You
So another one of my favorite stories from people we’ve helped is about a lady who had complications with her pregnancy.
She eventually had to be temporarily put in a wheelchair.
Now, this lady does anesthesia, and as you could imagine, that’s pretty difficult to do when you’re rolling yourself around in a wheelchair.
It meant she couldn’t work long hours, and she couldn’t work all night, either.
So she had to make a decision, and eventually, she decided that she needed to do something else.
So although she didn’t know exactly what she had to do, she knew what direction she had to go in.
The example I like to use for this is to imagine you’re driving from Austin, Texas, to LA. I mean, you don’t have to know every single road and every single turn-off to get from Texas to LA.
As long as you can see what’s ahead of you and you know you’re going in the general direction, then that’s what really matters. And that’s exactly what we were helping her to do.
And the way you get that kind of respect from people is because eventually you will stop taking those extra Friday night shifts and those long hours, and once they start to see you doing your own thing. They begin to respect that!
And when you break away from that traditional mainstream medicine and join our very vibrant community of medical entrepreneurs, you’re going to have a complete group of like-minded, positive people who are ready to share what they know with you and really go out of their way to help you hit your goals.
But Where Do I Actually… Start?
The truth is, that the way you start your journey as a medical entrepreneur is just by a couple of hours per week.
For example, I knew a guy who was a neurosurgeon who worked at a beautiful office in a pretty rural area. He had great staff and great facilities, and everything was going great. They even started building up neuro ICUs in the hospital.
But one day, after an issue in the post-care of a patient due to the ICU’s not being up to standard, unfortunately, this guy got the blame for that.
And overnight, he had gone from being the hospital’s best friend to being their worst enemy.
This is why you should start building now, even if it is something small, because you never know when you might need it in the future!
